Last week, we found out that cast members for the upcoming film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings had begun arriving in Sydney, Australia, to resume production. Thanks to a local TV affiliate in the area, we now have a video of the set that they will be filming on.
Earlier this morning, 7NEWS Sydney posted online aerial footage of the big-budgeted film’s set. As you can see in the video below, it seems that Marvel Studios has built its own little town that looks like it’s supposed to be somewhere in Asia, where the film’s setting is expected to take place.
Expected to be released on May 7th, 2021, the film will star Simu Liu as Shang-Chi and Tony Leung as the Mandarin (film’s villain).
Like all Marvel movies, not much is known about the plot. However, over the last couple of months, rumors online have been circling that the film’s focus will be on a martial arts tournament. The winner of the competition will receive the Ten Rings of Power, a powerful weapon from the comics that’s usually held by the Mandarin. Granted, these are just online rumors, so who knows if they are accurate.
