Well, another rumor that started online appears not to be true. Back in March, Actor/Writer/Director Kevin Smith said on his podcast that he heard a rumor that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will be in the upcoming new Spider-Man film. As usual, this spread throughout the internet like wildfire. Fan were excited to hear the possibility of Cox returning as the man without fear, a character he played on Netflix for three seasons.
However, earlier today, Cox did an interview with Comic Book.com for their upcoming watch party and addressed the rumors.
“I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it,” Cox says. “If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor.”Charlie Cox to Comic Book.com
So unless he’s lying, it’s not looking like he will return for the role. It is interesting however, to hear him say his version of Daredevil. To me, this could imply that the studio may be looking to create their own version. That would be quite something if they did that because his version on Netflix is supposed to take place in the MCU.
After the ending in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the third MCU Spider-Man film is sure to be exciting. Originally scheduled to open July 2021, last week, it was announced it would be pushed back to November 2021 because of the Coronavirus.
