Captain Marvel 2 finds its bad guy, or in this case, bad girl. On Friday news broke from Deadline that actress Zawe Ashton has been cast as the villain in the upcoming film. On Thursday, The Illuminerdi was the first to report that Ashton was being eyed for the film.
Besides describing the role as the “main villain”, Deadline didn’t reveal any other details about the role, specifically who it is. The outlet did note that while Ashton’s character is being is passed off as the “main villain”, it could be a trick or there could be an even greater threat. Similar to what happened in the first Captain Marvel with the Skrulls.
Two weeks ago, Tom Holland said he had no idea if former Spidey actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire would be in the third Spider-Man film. Back in December, it was reported that both would return to reprise their roles.
Now in a new interview with Esquire, Holland was asked about the report again. This time, however, the actor was very blunt in saying that they will not be in the film.

During Disney’s first-quarter earnings call on Thursday we learned that the company still plans to release the upcoming Phase 4 film Black Widow in theaters only in May. Now thanks to report from Variety, we now know that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has been pushing to keep it this way.
According to the report, the MCU architect has been opposed to releasing the film in theaters and on Disney+ at the same time. Since his films have brought in over $22 Billion at the box office, the studio has so far been listening to him. However, the report did note that they could still decide to overrule him.
During the first quarter of last Sunday’s Super Bowl, a 30 second spot for the upcoming Disney+ series Falcon and Winter Soldier was played. Online, a two-minute trailer was released that included even more footage.
