Since filming began in November for Marvel Studios’ upcoming series Ms. Marvel, fans have been hoping to get a look at newcomer Iman Vellani suited up in full costume. Now thanks to Just Jared, we finally do, and it doesn’t disappoint.
I think we can all say that Marvel Studios nailed the outfit. Vellani looks like she came right out of the comics suited up in the Red, Blue, and Yellow costume.
Last week, Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner announced that he had completed filming for his upcoming Disney+ series. Now a new photo has surfaced online of Renner in a new costume.
Renner’s suit is definitely more comic book accurate than past outfits, as it contains more purple. Between Wanda’s new costume in WandaVision and Sam Wilson’s in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios seems like it’s trying to make its character’s outfits closer to their source material.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion is on the verge of adding another member to its cast. According to Deadline, the studio is in negotiations with Irish actor Killian Scott for an undisclosed role.
Scott is mainly known for his roles on USA Network’s Damnation and BBC’s Dublin Murders.
Recently Marvel has been busy filling out the show’s cast. Last week, it was reported that Olivia Colman (The Crown) and Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) were added to the project. They join Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Ben Mendelsohn (Talos), who will reprise their big-screen MCU roles. In addition, Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami) is also expected to be part of the cast as the series’ villain.
Recently, news broke that a fourth Captain America film was in the works and that a script was being written by Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman. It’s expected that the film will revolve around Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) as the new Cap.
Now in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mackie was asked about the report for the first time.
“I literally found out yesterday in a grocery store,” Mackie claims. “The checkout guy named Dwayne, a cool cat, he’s like, ‘Yo, man. Is this real?!” [holds up a cellphone] “I’m like, ‘I haven’t heard anything.’ That’s what I love about working for Marvel. They call you, they’re like, ‘Come to L.A. We wanna tell you what’s going on.’ So, I’m excited to see what happens, but I haven’t heard anything.”
While there’s a chance he’s lying, it’s entirely believable that Marvel Studios didn’t tell the actor about the project. The studio has a long history of keeping things hidden from its stars. For example, during Avengers: Infinity War‘s production, cast members were only allowed to read parts of the script that they were in.
According to Variety, Marvel Studios has chosen Chinaka Hodge as head writer for its upcoming Ironheart series. Slated to be released on Disney+, the series will star Dominique Thorne as fan-favorite Riri Williams (aka Ironheart).
Hodge, who is also a poet, is best known for being a writer on the TNT series Snowpiercer. Her other credits include Apple+’s Amazing Stories.
