Ms. Marvel series wrapped filming

On Tuesday, Variety reported that the upcoming Marvel Studios produced series Ms. Marvel has finished production. Expected to hit Disney+ in late 2021, the six-episode series stars newcomer Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan (AKA Ms. Marvel).

Filming for Ms. Marvel began all the way back in November in Atlanta Georgia. Lately, the series had been shooting overseas in Thailand. According to Variety, filming being done here was being directed by Obaid-Chinoy and will take place during episodes four and five.

Marvel Studios’ What If….? animated series will be released in August

According to EW, Marvel Studios’ animated series What If….? will arrive on Disney+ in August. The outlet made the reveal in an article in which they listed this summer’s must-watch TV shows.

Based on the popular Marvel comic book series of the same name, What IF….? will be an anthology series. It will tell different stories of what would have happened if certain things occurred differently throughout the MCU’s history.

Disney CEO says Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will only be in theaters for 45 days before hitting streaming

When Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings opens in theaters on September 3rd, it will become the first Marvel Studios produced film to get an exclusive theatrical release since the pandemic began. However, according to Disney CEO Bob Chapek, its window will be much less than past MCU films.

During the companies quarterly earnings call on Thursday, Chapek announced that the Simu Liu-led film will only be in theaters for 45 days before moving to streaming. The industry standard used to be 90 days, but since the pandemic decimated the theater industry, studios have started to shorten their film windows.

Secret Invasion series finds its directors

After filling its cast out over the last month, Marvel Studios’ upcoming series Secret Invasion finally has directors. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go, The Family Stone) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) have signed on to helm the Disney+ series.

Announced at Disney’s Investor Day in December, the series will see Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Ben Mendelsohn (Talos) reprise their MCU roles. Joining them will be Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Killian Scott.
