Earlier this morning Marvel Studios announced that tickets for the first film in Phase Four, Black Widow, are now on sale. After being delayed three times, the Scarlett Johansson led film will hit theaters and Disney+ Premier Access on July 9th.
To celebrate the news, a new action-packed clip was released by Fandango. In it, Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (played by Johansson) and her sister Yelena Belova (played by Florence Pugh) are attacked by a squad of Black Widow assassins.
Originally Black Widow was supposed to come out in May 2020, but because of the pandemic, it was pushed back to November 2020. Then in September, when things were not improving, it was moved again to May 2021. It was then pushed a third time and will now arrive in July.
Along with Johansson and Pugh, the film will star David Harbour as Alexei/The Red Guardian, Rachel Weisz as Melina, Ray Winstone as Dreykov, and O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason. Cate Shortland served as director.
After portraying the role in eight films, Black Widow will likely be the final time Johansson suits up as the super spy. Last summer it was revealed that Pugh will take over the mantle as the MCU’s Black Widow. Her first appearance in the role is excepted to be in the new Hawkeye series.
So have you bought your tickets yet? I have!
