Looks like James Gunn has brought another one of his DC cast members to the MCU. According to Deadline, actress Daniela Melchior, who played Ratcatcher II in the Gunn directed The Suicide Squad, has been cast in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While the outlet didn’t reveal who she would be playing, they did describe it as a “small role.”
Soon after Deadline broke the story, Gunn confirmed it on his Twitter account.
This isn’t the first time Melchior has been linked to the film. Last October, it was reported that the 25-year-old actress would be playing Drax’s daughter Moondragon. However, soon after it came out, Gunn debunked it on his Twitter account.
As mentioned before, Melchior isn’t the first actor/actress that Gunn has brought over from his DC projects. In November, it was revealed that Peacemaker‘s Chukwudi Iwuji had joined the film. While it’s still unknown what his role is, there has been a lot of speculation that he’s actually playing the film’s villain, the High Evolutionary.
Filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 wrapped in early May. Along with Melchior and Chukwudi, the third and possibly last outing in the series will star Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Sean Gunn (Rocket/Kraglin), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Will Poulter (Adam Warlock). You can catch it in theaters on May 5, 2023.
So who do you think Melchior is playing?
