Rumor: Laura Donnelly is playing Elsa Bloodstone in Marvel Studios’ Werewolf By Night special

In January, actress Laura Donnelly joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ Werewolf By Night Halloween special for Disney+. At the time, it was speculated that she would be playing Nina Price, whose known as Vampire By Night in the comics. However, a new report from The Comic Circus has revealed that Donnelly will actually be playing monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone.

The daughter of Ulysses Bloodstone, Elsa debuted in the comics in 2001. Thanks to an artifact she wears called the Bloodgem, she has the abilities of enhanced strength, speed, endurance, agility, and invulnerability to physical harm.

One nugget about Bloodstone that will certainly excite MCU fans is that she is often affiliated with the group Midnight Sons. With the arrival of Blade, Moon Knight, and Werewolf By Night, there’s been a lot of speculation that Marvel Studios might be trying to assemble the supernatural group. With Bloodstone now involved, it will only further that speculation.

Filming for the special has been ongoing now for a couple of weeks in Georgia. Michael Giacchino, who’s known more as a composer, is serving as director. What’s interesting about the special is that Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce it, let alone give it a title. I’m sure there will be an announcement in the coming months.

Look for the special to arrive on Disney+ this October.
