Alaqua Cox reveals that filming for Echo series begins today

By Stephen Ippolito | April 21st, 2022

Well this came out of nowhere. Yesterday, Echo star Alaqua Cox announced that filming for her upcoming Disney+ series begins today. Cox revealed the news in an Instagram story.

As you can see, the 25-year-old actress shared a photo of a message she received from Reservation Dogs star Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs that wished her good luck on the start of filming. She also said that she would “see you soon.” While there have been no reports that Jacobs is involved in the series, this could indicate that she is in it.

As far as plot details for the show go, not a lot is known. The last time we saw Cox’s Echo was in the finale of the Hawkeye series when she killed Kazi Kazimierczak and supposedly Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. Because Kingpin’s death was off-camera, it’s rumored that he did not die and could return.

There have also been rumors that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock (AKA Daredevil) could also appear. After playing the character on Netflix’s Marvel shows, Charlie finally returned to the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home this past December. Since Daredevil and Echo cross paths in the comics frequently, his involvement would make sense.

Outside of Alaqua Cox, the other only known casting for Echo is Graham Greene. It is known though that Sydney Freeland will direct at least one episode.

With filming beginning, you can expect Echo to arrive on the Disney streaming service sometime in 2023.
